Diastereomere

Als Diastereomere bezeichnet man Stereoisomere, die sich nicht wie Bild und Spiegelbild verhalten (Wheland, 1960) (und auch nicht identisch sind). Beispiel: (2R,3R)-Dichlorbutan und (2R,3S)-Dichlorbutan.

Das Spiegelbild von (2R,3R)-Dichlorbutan ist also nicht mit (2R,3S)-Dichlorbutan deckungsgleich.
